New measures to stimulate Uzbek wine industry
Uzbekistan has introduced new measures to stimulate the development of viticulture and wine production while reducing state participation in the sector.
The presidential decree involves setting up a special agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, which will be tasked with extending the amount of land devoted to vineyards, increasing production through plant modernisation and introducing energy-efficient technologies.
The agency will also encourage foreign investments and carry out market research with the aim of boosting exports.
