Safety for food and pharma

A Ipack-Ima Thermo Ramsey Italia presented its new latest generation machine for the X-ray control of “flat lying” formats (hence not bottles or cans, but bags, packs, etc.…Ed).

It’s name is Xpert™ C400, and is aboveall for the food sector, and enables classic scanning for contaminants as well as a series of complementary checks: image analysis, estimated mass and weight, control of completeness of the pack with the counting of the pieces contained and the measure of under or overfilling…

Many the distinctive features of Xpert™ C400, starting from the multiple resolution system sensor (0,8/0,4mm) and the series of dedicated algorithms, capable of tracing microscopic contaminants in complex images and with a level of false rejects practically at zero. This machine, what is more, emits low power (85W) X-rays thus reducing the need for bulky protection, can work at rhythms of 24x7x365 in difficult environments (it is IP65 tested and operates between 5° and 40 °C) and requires below average maintenance and repairwork.
Also deserving a mention the new application that Thermo Ramsey has devised for the pharmaceutical sector, integrating the normal check-weigher with a series of controls that guarantee track&trace. «This development - Giacosa underlines - enables the various operations to be run with a single machine and hence with the same electronics, when necessary, the same expulsion system and, last but not least, with a single control panel on which all the commands and the parameters required to create the layout of the label or the datamatrix, to regulate the camera setting…».
