Sipa SpA | Best Packaging 2026

Product overview. ETERNA is a 1 L PET bottle designed for the HO.RE.CA. sector, holding the record as the world’s lightest reusable packaging, tested and validated for 20 cycles. This “plug-and-play” record-breaking solution combines the aesthetic appeal of glass with maximum environmental sustainability.

Innovation. A unique project: weighing just 49.5 g, ETERNA redefines the standards of lightness. It innovates end-of-life management through 30% chemically recycled rPET and an advanced laser marking system applied to both the cap and a recessed area on the bottle, ensuring full digital traceability and a cutting-edge “label-less” appearance.

Materials used. PET (Polyclear PET F061) with 30% chemically recycled rPET (BHET). The combination of high-quality virgin and recycled materials maintains record structural performance despite the low weight, ensuring food safety and brilliance throughout its service life.

Technologies. High-speed stretch-blow-moulding technology on SIPA XTRA rotary systems (2800 bph per cavity). The key innovation is the integration of digital laser marking on both the cap and a dedicated recessed area of the bottle, allowing unique identification without the use of inks or additional labels.

Environmental benefits. A record achievement: raw material savings of up to 38 % compared with competitors. Validated for 20 cycles and extremely lightweight, ETERNA drastically reduces the carbon footprint (LCA) associated with production and logistics, promoting a truly circular economy model.

Benefits for end users. Consumers enjoy premium, elegant packaging perceived as safe and hygienic. The bottle is extremely easy to handle due to its low weight and supports sustainable out-of-home consumption without compromising on the refined design typical of glass packaging.

Communication advantages. “The record of lightness, the strength of reuse”. Thanks to QR codes and laser marking, ETERNA represents smart design that provides digital traceability, monitoring bottle performance throughout each cycle, maximising service life, minimising waste, and delivering complete transparency on environmental performance.
