High performance, small size
New developments for B&R’s ACOPOSmotor modules, which can be configured as easy-to-connect mechatronic devices. The integration of motor and drive minimizes the machine’s footprint.
B&R has added two particularly compact variants to its integrated motor and drive solution. Equipped with powerful processors, the new devices are perfect for applications where tight synchronization and positioning accuracy are critical. With the new options, the ACOPOSmotor portfolio now covers a power range from 283 W to 2.3 kW.
A powerful processor gives the ACOPOSmotor variants a fast internal cycle time of 50 µs for current, speed and position control. This makes them the right choice for highly dynamic processes in which high-speed movements must be synchronized with impeccable precision. This opens up possible new applications in printing and packaging.
12% increase in power density
The new ACOPOSmotor units feature new motors with particularly high torque density. This allows the use of a significantly smaller flange and at the same time increases the power density by 12%. The smallest version has a 60 mm flange for a total length of only 125 mm. It therefore becomes possible to build more compact machines that take up less space in the line. The devices operate over a wide voltage range from 24 to 58 VDC and allow a wide selection of gearboxes to be used.
Reduced wiring
ACOPOS motors are equipped with two 300° swivel connectors for hybrid cables (only one cable needs to be routed to the control cabinet). The hybrid cable transmits both power and POWERLINK communication.
Additional ACOPOSmotor units can be easily connected via daisy-chain wiring. This saves up to 90% of wiring, substantially simplifying testing and installation. The units with integrated motor and drive also feature the STO safety function as standard: controlled via the hybrid cable, it eliminates the need for additional wiring.
Perfect for intelligent product transport
The compact variants of the ACOPOSmotor can be connected directly to the power supply of the ACOPOStrak or ACOPOS 6D, which greatly simplifies the wiring of the processing stations. The ACOPOSmotor does not need an additional power supply.
