Smart sensors capable of detecting any object

The new P1EL series retro-reflex photoelectronic sensors developed by wenglor use a continuous, homogeneous light band to reliably detect objects with irregular or asymmetric shapes within a range of up to 1.6 metres.

They accurately detect dark, transparent or glossy objects, including those with perforated surfaces. The series consists of three models: P1EL100 (light band height 27 mm), P1EL200 (42 mm) and P1EL300 (54 mm).
They are simple to use and include specific functions for logistics applications, enabling them to avoid the problems and bottlenecks that regularly occur in warehouse processes. Further advantages include higher productivity, greater system availability, more flexible production and lower costs. The operating principle is the same as that of two-dimensional light barriers but in this case using a collimated class 1 laser light beam.
The sensors can be set up simply by pressing the teach-in key  and they offer the maximum flexibility of installation thanks to the 180° rotating plug.
The three models can be mounted together with the reflecting element on the side panels of conveyor systems in just a few easy steps using mounting brackets, M4 through-bolts and press-fit sleeves.

Self-learning functions. Significant advantages in terms of both application and installation are achieved thanks to integrated smart functions such as automatic compensation of conveyor belt irregularities by means of self-learning and dynamic switching threshold adjustment, together with a very small width of just 27 mm. The dynamic self-learning function is particularly advantageous, especially for conveyor belt applications given that it can easily compensate for irregular areas.
