Marchesini’s 2019: turnover and strategic acquisitions
Marchesini Group closed 2019 with consolidated sales of 441 million euros, a performance in line with the excellent result of 2018. I
n addition to the good results in terms of turnover, the acquisitions of three companies in the mechanical and automation supply chain contributed to strengthening the group’s growth. The first company to become a subsidiary is Pianorese Carlo Corazza Srl, a historical brand specialized in precision machining and special processes (turnover: two million euros).
The second manufacturing company to enter the Marchesini galaxy is FVM Srl, a Tuscan artisan company (Monteriggioni, Siena) which, since 1992, has been manufacturing small automatic machines and components for the pharmaceutical, diagnostic, cosmetic and food sectors (turnover: 800 thousand euros). The acquisition consolidates the existing collaboration with the Marchesini-Corima division, one of the world’s leading players in the construction of lines dedicated to the packaging of vaccines and anti-tumor products.
Auteco Sistemi Srl, a software house in Lombardy (Pavia) founded in 1985 and operating in the creation of solutions in the field of automation, process control and digitization of operating flows, also joins the Group. The acquisition confirms the strategy of interconnecting mechanics with robotics and software, manufacturing with digitization and Artificial Intelligence in 4.0 optics, started in 2017 with the acquisition of SEA Vision and Proteo Engineering in 2018.
Strengthening on foreign markets. In 2019, Marchesini Iberica (from the spin-off of the pharmaceutical packaging branch of the historic company STE), which carries out commercial activities in the Iberian Peninsula and the Maghreb, and Marchesini Packaging Mexico were also established.
