Italians, dedicated to saving?

From a study made  by Facile.it the drive to spend ever less emerges.

Savings mania touches 32.6 million Italians: 16.8 million Italians discuss it at least once a week with a family member, 6 million do it every day. This is what emerges from a survey carried out on a representative sample of the population by Facile.it, which analysed the ways people manage saving, such as the most expensive items of expenditure, such as costs to be cut and those effectively eliminated.
The focus on savings at home is the prerogative of women (58%) and 35-54 year-olds (43%), and  the discussions on home expenses are an average 5.8 per month.
Alongside conscious and virtuous actions that are now common to Italians (70.7% use washing machines and dishwashers only when fully loaded, 69.6% close the water tap while brushing their teeth), less obvious behaviour has emerged, in some cases even excessive.

This is the case of 6.1 million Italians who admit to re-using aluminium or transparent film for food several times; or the 5.3 million motorists who, when they are traveling downhill, put the car in neutral to save fuel.
Or, again, of the 2.6 million Italian women who open half their make-up pads so they can be used several times, while there are 5.5 million people who divide paper napkins in two.
Another interesting fact concerns the 11.5 million people who constantly change supermarket to chase up the offers, while there are 3 million citizens who, in order to save, only buy foodstuff close to the best before date and hence at a discount.
