A high-performance motion controller

Equipped with the motion controller processor P2020 EtherCAT Master μRMC3, designed by Robox, a company that since 1975 has been designing and manufacturing axial motion controls, programming languages, development environments for robotics in general and for motion control.

robox_uRMC3_inclinata_web.pngThe P2020 is a Freescale Power PC architecture microprocessor. Its 45nm technology allows, with only 5W of power loss, to enjoy the performance of a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor structure, 500 MB of level two cache, floating point hardware, 3-channel Ethernet, great networking capabilities.
Thanks also to the efficiency of the hard real-time operating systems that have always characterized Robox, a similar performance - transported to the motion controller - for example enables:
- to perform the inverse kinematics transformed at a frequency of 1 kHz for two robots with six degrees of independence with spherical wrist leaving a residual 20% of computing power;
- send position, speed and torque references in real-time on Ethernet fieldbuses at 2kHz and to pilot up to 64 axes in electricity masting at the same frequency;
- send to the center, at the same frequencies via Ethernet, up to 180 magnitudes in double floating point format.
Broad too the range of applications in various industrial sectors: machines for packaging, beverage, paper, marble, glass, wood, food, textiles etc; robots (welding, assembly, pick&place, cutting, palletizing, painting, etc; agvs.
