The environmental contribution on glass has been reduced

From 1 January 2016 the Conai Environmental Contribution for glass will decrease from the present 20.80 EUR/t to EUR 19.30/t.

The reduction, approved by the Conai Board on the advice of the Coreve consortium, means lower costs for packaging producers and users. The further reduction in costs for businesses will still allow to ensure the removal of municipal packaging waste throughout the country and recognition of the payments to municipalities under the new Anci-Conai Framework Agreement (420 millons of euros estimated in 2015).
In 2014 the activities of Conai and sector consortiums sent more than 3.6 million tonnes of packaging materials from household collection for recycling: A result showing an increase of 7.2% over the previous year.
