Romaco acquires Spanish manufacturer STE Tecpharm

Romaco has completed the acquisition of STE Tecpharm, a Spanish manufacturer specialising in technologies for the pharmaceutical industry, which from now on will operate under the name Romaco Tecpharm.

With this acquisition, Romaco will decisively expand its portfolio and create valuable synergistic effects. Tecpharm’s highly efficient drum tablet coaters are the perfect match for the high-quality Romaco Innojet and Romaco Kilian brand technologies.

Tecpharm was founded in 2013 by David Mateo, Bárbara Jané and Pedro Cuadrado as a spin-off of the STE Group. The company employs around 30 people at its present site in Rubí, near Barcelona.

Its core competencies as a supplier of equipment for the pharmaceutical industry extend to wet granulation technologies. This latest addition to the Romaco family brings the total number of production sites to five in Germany, Italy and Spain.

The European pharmaceutical machinery specialist covers the entire process chain with technologies for manufacturing, processing and packing pharmaceutical solids. The processing segment will in future be made up of the Romaco Innojet, Romaco Kilian and Romaco Tecpharm product brands.

Tecpharm will operate as an independent business unit of the Romaco Group run by David Mateo.
