Carlsberg and Marston’s form a joint venture
In a deal worth £780 million, Carlsberg and Marston’s have formed a joint venture aimed at strengthening the Danish brewer’s presence in the pub sector.
Under the terms of the agreement, expected to be finalised in the second half of 2020, the production and distribution activities of both companies will be acquired by the new Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company, which will acquire a strong portfolio of international brands.
The transaction will see Carlsberg pay up to £273 million and become the controlling shareholder with a 60% stake.
