Aptar Group signs two deals in pharmaceutical services segment

Aptar Group (Illinois) has acquired two leading pharma analytical services companies, Nanopharm Ltd. and Gateway Analytical LLC, for a combined enterprise value of approximately $50 million.

The acquisitions are part of Aptar’s strategy to broaden its portfolio of analytical, testing and development services for pharmaceutical and biotech customers so as to accelerate all stages of product development and marketing.

Nanopharm, based in Newport, UK, is a leading provider of orally inhaled and nasal drug product (OINDP) design and development services.

Gateway Analytical, located in Gibsonia, PA, provides particle detection and analysis systems for companies offering injectable drugs. According to Gael Touya, President of Aptar Pharma (Aptar Group’s healthcare business segment), the two deals will allow access to a broader preclinical research and experimentation platform for the development and market launch of new drugs.
