Born in Besana in Brianza (MI) in 1969, Isabella Rigamonti studied at the San Giuseppe Artistic High School in Monza and graduated in Architecture-Design at Milan Polytechnic.

She started her artistic career in the field of figurative painting with traditional techniques, which she soon moved away from to embrace artistic experimentation of an informal perceptive nature, with unusual expressive techniques and materials.

Early in her artistic career, she developed an interest in photography, which soon became her principal means of expression, perfecting her technique through different annual courses also organized by the Forma Academy in Milan.

The artist performs a complex work on a photographic level, producing, without the use of subsequent digital touch-ups, an effect of veiling and stratification of the image. The photograph is, in fact, reworked in a conceptual and gestural form, juxtaposing or superimposing parts of colour photography on black and white, which live a life of their own within the work and, at the same time, create a different dimension, changing the perception itself of the work.

Her unique pieces have been displayed over the years in numerous collective and personal shows, in private galleries (Galleria Cart, Galleria FMArt Studio, Galleria Villa and Galleria Artista in Monza / Galleria PEP Art, Galleria MICRO ARTI VISIVE in Roma, Galleria Viola@arte di Galliate/Lugano, Galleria Castel Negrino Arte /Galleria Showcases Gallery in Varese/ Galleria Pardes in Mirano / Galleria Art Factory in Venezia), municipal exhibition spaces, side pavilions of the Venice Biennale, Italian and foreign sector trade fairs, as well as museums (Museo Casa Tadini, Museo Civico Floriano Bodini, Museo Enrico Butti, Museo Parisi Valle, MIMUMO, MAC di Lula and MAGA). Sector magazine have often referred to her, and several of her works have entered permanent collections in the above-cited museums.
