Beverage and the wine industry

The 24th Simei (International Exhibition of winemaking and bottling machinery) closed 26th November last with a good success, also internationally. Key rendezvous for beverage and wine industry operators, organized by the Unione Italiana Vini, this year’s show witnessed the participation of 716 exhibitors (from 25 countries) and over 48,000 visitors, 9,400 of which from abroad. The year 2011 was also that of the "Technological Innovation Award", a recognition of the excellence of machinery, equipment, products and services dedicated to wine and beverage producers, the food industry and consumers. Out of a total of 36 projects submitted by companies around the world, 4 awards were distributed along with 12 special mentions. The Wine and Oil Bars hosted tastings offered by the best Italian companies, with demos of educational activities of the Unione Italiana Vini on sensory analysis, with over 2000 operators taking part in numerous conferences and seminars.
