Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna strengthens its leadership role

The international cosmetics industry is gearing up for the 57th edition of Cosmoprof, scheduled to take place in Bologna from 26 to 29 March 2026.

The event renews its commitment to B2B networking, thanks to new areas dedicated to commercial pitches and institutional presentations, expanded networking spaces, and a strong focus on emerging trends and high-potential markets.
Across more than 170,000 square metres of exhibition space, over 3,000 companies from more than 60 countries will meet with more than 255,000 international professionals, once again confirming Bologna as the global capital of professional beauty.

“Exhibiting at Cosmoprof means entering an international business ecosystem where strategic buyers, top-level distributors and emerging markets converge,” said Enrico Zannini, General Manager of BolognaFiere Cosmoprof. “For new players, it is a launchpad; for established brands, it remains a key reference point in the global beauty calendar.

The quality of visitors continues to grow year after year. In 2025, Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna recorded a 4.5% increase in attendance compared to 2024, with participants from over 150 countries and 21% first-time visitors.

“For 2026, we expect attendance to continue growing, in line with the positive trend of recent editions,” added Zannini. “Interest from international markets remains strong, particularly among retailers, category and merchandising managers, importers and distributors seeking innovation and a global perspective on beauty brands.”

A growing and increasingly competitive market

Forecasts from Euromonitor International confirm the steady development of the cosmetics sector: in 2025, the global market is expected to reach a value of USD 610.4 billion, representing a 2.9% increase compared to 2024. The average annual growth rate forecast through 2029 stands at 3%, with the United States, China and Brazil continuing to be the strongest markets, alongside established European economies such as Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Italy.

Italy also ranks among the world’s leading exporters, with a cosmetics export value of USD 8.4 billion in 2024. Skincare, haircare, fragrances and make-up will continue to drive demand, while new high-potential segments such as wellness, sun care and professional haircare are set to reshape the sector’s competitive dynamics
