Formula Cibus Tec 2016: right first time round Italian excellence (also liked by the Germans)

The 51st edition of Cibus Tec (the food processing and packaging show) ended on Friday, 28 October, registering record numbers and in particular, announcing the success of the formula fielded by “Koeln Parma Exhibitions” (KPE), a company owned 50% by Fiere di Parma and 50% by Koelnmesse: the first step of the project which, thanks to the synergy between events the calibre of Cibus and Anuga Anuga Foodtec, intends to create the world’s largest food & foodtec platform.


The show, held late October in Parma, featured 1,200 exhibitors (+30%, a third of which coming from 25 countries, headed by Germany); 35 thousand trade visitors (40% foreign) decreed a 20% increase on attendance at the last edition of the fair. But it was the 3,000 top buyers from 75 countries and 5 continents that best defined the value of the event that, according to comments by Antonio Cellie (CEO of Fiere di Parma) is an expression «of a specialised competence center created in Fiere di Parma, made up of a group of motivated young people able to work successfully with the Italian protagonists of the mechano-food sector. A nucleus of experience and expertise this that is rapidly integrating with Koelnmesse’s global network, to make unique opportunities globally available to exhibitors, thanks to the special relationship that our fairs have with the food industry through Cibus and Anuga».

In April the Chicago ProFoodtec awaits us, followed by other projects in South America and, in particular, in India, where food processing is one of the 25 sectors covered by the “Make in India” project launched two years ago by the Indian government, with the goal of increasing the contribution of local manufacturing sector from the current 16% to 25% by 2025».
