Labelexpo Europe: alive and full of bounce

The largest European labeling fair ended its 2011 edition with record numbers and hundreds of "launches".
«Despite the economic climate, Labelexpo Europe 2011 was well attended and lively, confirming its position as business, networking and monitoring opportunity for new technologies and product launches.

Indeed this year more than ever we found that the labeling industry continues to revamp and to innovate, and that operators have good reason to be optimistic in that - as the show confirmed - both printers and converters as well as manufacturers continue to invest in equipment and services».
With these words, Roger Pellow, general director of the event, closed an undoubtedly successful edition. Labelexpo 2011 (Brussels, 28th September to 1st October) hosted 550 exhibitors located in six Halls (544 in 2009) and 28,636 visitors from 118 countries, an increase of 18.6%: the highest figures in the more than 30 years history of the show.
In particular, the satisfaction of exhibitors is reflected in that 81, 3% of companies have already signed up for 2013, which will take place, also in Brussels and as ever with the support of the international industry federation Finat, from Tuesday 24th to Friday 27th September.
This incidentally constitutes a new feature: taking into account the attendance statistics and the preferences expressed by an overwhelming majority of exhibitors, Tarsus Group has in fact "shifted" the fair to the middle of the week, excluding the weekend.
Many the moments of interest, featuring the hundreds of new products introduced during the show, news of which will be given in this and the coming editions of our magazine Converting. Alongside the same, featuring live demos at the stands, we report on the tests performed during the Digital Print Workshops and in the Package Printing Zone.
Strongly wished for by Tarsus, in spite of the obvious difficulties, these two areas in fact hosted the presentation of similar, competing systems and related technologies, allowing, as far as possible, a comparison between the strongpoints and opportunities in the application of solutions developed by different players. An initiative that could only work if carried out with the utmost seriousness and precision, as was the case. Particular interest was aroused by the comparison between the three printing technologies dry toner, electro-and inkjet ink, "moderated" by independent experts, and the presentation, in the Package Printing Zone, of the opportunities offered to label producers from the latest short-to-medium run printing technologies.
