Packaging 4.0: production efficiency at the service of mass customization - March 20, 2019, Bologna

The third round table on the approach to SPS Italia, a fair for the intelligent, digital and flexible industry organized by Messe Frankfurt Italia, scheduled in Parma from 28 to 30 May, is dedicated to the evolution of packaging and packaging technologies.

The Bologna meeting - born from the collaboration between SPS Italia, Ipack-Ima and UCIMA - takes place on 20 March at the Golinelli Foundation in Bologna, in the packaging production district par excellence.
Professional operators, end-users, suppliers of digital technologies and automation will then compare the developments of one of the most dynamic and internationally competitive Italian industrial sectors. A training session will be dedicated to students, with a view to a continuous alignment between evolution of the technologies and the request for new professional skills.
As Donald Wich, CEO of Messe Frankfurt Italia, stressed, «packaging is an area of fundamental application for SPS Italy, which not by chance happens in Parma, in Italy’s food valley, creating synergies between two vital sectors for our country. The collaboration with Ipack-Ima and the UCIMA association allows us to offer a qualified appointment sharing experiences of two different but connected worlds, that of packaging and industrial automation» .

SPS IPC Drives Italia, in the six exhibition halls, will present new contents and projects. In Halls 3, 5 and 6 there will be all the best automation technologies and software solutions at the service of the intelligent factory. In pavilions 4, 7 and 4.1, the path dedicated to the Digital Transformation of manufacturing, called “District 4.0”, will showcase projects related to the areas of renewal through the digitalisation of processes. “District 4.0” will be divided into thematic areas: Advanced Automation, Digital & Software, Competence Academy and Robotics & Mechatronics with an entire dedicated pavilion that will host the most significant players in the sector.
