SPS IPC Drives Italy 22 - 24 May 2018, Parma

Anticipated by specialized events (ICS Forum on industrial cyber security) and round tables throughout Italy, that from January to April will examine the theme “Automation and digital along the supply chains and organized locally”, the 2018 Edition of SPS IPC Drives Italia (organized by Messe Frankfurt Italia) promises new, important points of interest.

«For three days, in Parma, the onus will be on training, innovation and digitization processes for the new national manufacturing industry: This is the project that turns SPS into Italy’s “4.0 laboratory”».
This the conviction of Messe Frankfurt Italia CEO Donald Wich, who aboveall emphasizes the startling ability of the event to adapt to technological and market trends.
Based on the overall increase in sign-ups, the 2018 edition announces an overall growth of 10%, while the important extension of the fair quarter with a path dedicated to Digital Transformation and a new hall entitled Digital Pavilion District (which will host all the major players of the world of Digital, Software and Cyber Security) «confirms SPS Italia as Italy’s prime platform for the convergence between the world of manufacture and that of IT technologies».
The two new areas are complementary to that of “Knowhow 4.0” that this year, along with achievements and features in line with the concepts of Industry 4.0, will host applications dedicated to the world of robotics, artificial intelligence, also extending to the project “4.it from knowhow to machine learning”, developed in collaboration with the Italian Association of Mechatronic Automation (AIdAM).

Culture, training and a contest. The relationship between man and technology will be the focus of debate at the fair during the meetings centering on the issues of Digital Transformation, this in order to investigate the role of digital technologies in process and product innovation. But SPS will also dedicate space to training: a specific area called “Fare cultura 4.0” dedicated to expanding the culture of Industry 4.0, that will be animated by students and professors of technical colleges and universities, by incubators and start-ups, digital innovation hubs, the Order of Engineers and competence centres, who will all bring their experience. The area will also host the information desks of the trade association partners of the event (Anie, Assofluid, Aidam, Assiot, Anima).
Lastly, this year in Parma, in collaboration with SPS Italy, Porsche Consulting launches the “Porsche Consulting Digital Transformation Contest “, to promote a virtuous network of companies - both large and small - capable of sharing experiences and technology ecosystems to support strategic decisions.
The winners will be given direct contact with the automaker, that will also support the winners with strategic advice worth 20,000 euros.
