Aliplast recycles and regenerates plastic waste from Panariagroup

Aliplast, a Hera Group company specialising in the production of plastic materials, and Panariagroup, a leading ceramic tile producer, have launched a virtuous and highly successful partnership.

The two companies have for some time been working together on a project to recover and regenerate waste plastic film (low density polyethylene) used by the ceramic tile manufacturer for product packaging during the various stages of production.

The process developed by Aliplast is based on a closed loop principle in which the plastic waste is recovered and subsequently treated and regenerated at its plant in Istrana, near Treviso.

The end result is a high-quality product with the same technical characteristics as those of the virgin material ready to be reintroduced into the Panariagroup’s production cycle.

More than two tons of waste polyethylene are collected from the Modena-based company’s plants each year, of which more than 95% is recovered, saving environmental emissions of more than 450 tons of CO2.
