Another year to remember for Innova Group

In addition to celebrating 50 years since its inception, the group led by the three directors Diego, Luca and Stefano Pedrotti (heirs of founder Giovanni Pedrotti) surpasses 100 million in sales and aims even higher through a strategic investment plan.

Innova Group’s growth is proceeding apace, and in fiscal year 2021 it posted the best financial result in its history, surpassing for the first time the 100 million euro threshold-105,862,588 million to be precise-that is +30 percent over 2020.

In addition to higher sales volumes, the excellent performance can also be attributed to list price increases, which the group decided to tweak due to sharp increases in raw material prices. Investments in the reporting period were also notable, amounting to 7.8 million euros. The amount includes the purchase of the new 60,000-square-meter plot in Borgo San Giacomo, the new Casemaker 1228 Bobst line (4 colors - 15,000 sheets/hour), a 3,000-square-meter expansion of the Fontanella plant, and investments in internal logistics and handling equipment

The plan for the biennium 2022-2023

Despite the difficult historical period characterized by high energy costs (since 2019, electricity prices have increased by 4 times, gas prices by as much as 11 times), the group continues to pursue its strategy focused on investments in technology, means and infrastructure. In the first 9 months of 2022, as much as 10 million euros were invested, used for the construction of a new 10,000-square-meter warehouse in Borgo San Giacomo, the purchase of 130,000 square meters of new land between Verona, Brescia and Bergamo, the installation of a photovoltaic system that will be able to cover 30-40% of the energy needs of the Fontanella plant, and to the inclusion of new technological equipment in the logistics area.

For 2023, on the other hand, the group has planned 4.5 million euros to be allocated in part to the installation of a photovoltaic system in the Borgo San Giacomo plant (90 percent of energy needs), and in part to the modernization of facilities and buildings with the addition of new offices in Brescia. The investments will also benefit internal logistics and software to which decisive improvements will be made. Plans also include joining the Carbon Footprint project that will lead the two plants in Fontanella and Borgo San Giacomo to become carbon neutral by 2023.

How much the human factor matters

On the employment front, Innova Group has registered a sharp increase in the number of employees from 229 to 269 between 2020 and 2021, to over 300 today. A decision also dictated by the need to increase shifts to ensure 24-hour production. To all its employees, whom it considers to be the company’s true assets, the group dedicates many resources, focusing especially on training.
