Barrier to mineral oils

Studies conducted by the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging on PLA Nativia™ film and on Extendo™ BOPP for Taghleef Industries have confirmed their excellent barrier properties against mineral oils, in particular, preventing their migration to the food contents from packaging made from recycled paper or carton.

The bioriented film Nativia™ (organic and compostable) stands out for its high gloss transparency, its ability to be heat sealed: it offers excellent elements for those who wish to communicate their commitment to sustainability.
The Extendo™ BOPPs, transparent or metalized, can be used on high-speed machines as monoweb as well as in laminates. Also thanks to their high barrier to oxygen and aromas, they are suitable for food packaging in almost all sectors (for fresh or dried food), but also for secondary packaging in medical applications.
