Coronavirus: communication from UCIMA Chairman
The Chairman of the Italian Automatic Packaging Machinery Manufacturers’ Association has sent a letter to all Italian and international customers.
This morning, Ucima’s Chairman Enrico Aureli sent a letter to all Italian and international customers to reassure them about the security measures that are being put in place by sector companies and to urge them to continue their normal business activities.
Dear Sir or Madam,
At this time of uncertainty amid the escalating coronavirus outbreak in many countries, Ucima (Italian Automatic Packaging Machinery Manufacturers’ Association) believes it is essential to inform customers worldwide that our companies have adopted all the necessary measures to protect the health and safety of their employees.
We also wish to reassure you that Italian companies in the sector are making every effort to safeguard their employees and associates so as to guarantee the continuity of production, sales and technical support with the same level of quality and without any limitations.
We must point out that the high level of vigilance and preventive measures properly implemented by the Italian authorities to protect all citizens represents a further guarantee for our international clientele and should in no way be considered a penalising factor for our companies, which have always been attentive to the health and safety of their employees.
This commitment, which also derives from Italy’s role as the world’s leading exporter country in the packaging industry, obliges all companies to devote the utmost attention to all aspects of health. We also believe that the procedures and safety measures adopted by our companies can serve as a model to be followed and shared with our customers so that they can guarantee the same health standards for their own employees.
Our employees can self-certify that they have not travelled to at-risk areas in Italy or abroad, that they have not had contact with people who have travelled to at-risk areas, that they do not display symptoms of the virus and that they are fit for work according to Italian regulations.
We therefore urge our international clientele to carry on normal relations with our companies and to continue to display the trust that our industry earns on a daily basis in all international markets.
As always, our association and all Italian companies are at your complete disposal for further information and assistance.
Thank you for your attention.
Chairman
Enrico Aureli
