The Flexible Packaging Association awards innovation

Last March, Sealed Air was presented with two Achievement Awards for innovation by the Flexible Packaging Association, for promoting printing techniques, technologies, processes and sustainability in this packaging category.

Two products in particular garnered this recognition, due to their originality, effectiveness and suitability to consumer needs.
In the category of “Retail” Cryovac® Darfresh® on Tray (1) won for combining a prepackaged tray system with a versatile vacuum skin material that extends the shelf life of the product and reduces food waste. Furthermore, this system utilizes 40% less material than other skin trays.
In the category of “Technical Innovation and Sustainability”, it was Cryovac® Freshness Plus® (2) to gain the gold: the materials used in this system prolong a food product’s life and protect its aroma. Also, the adoption of active packaging enables eliminating odors and enhancing the flavor, color and quality of the packaged food while reducing the need for additives and preservatives.
