Gerosa: innovation at the center

The disruptive power of issues related to the circular economy requires facing challenges of change, certainly not easy to overcome.

Aware of the importance of research and innovation in the current scenario, the Gerosa Group (printing and converting flexible packaging) is committed to stimulating the development of new solutions to anticipate industry trends, without ever compromising on the quality of the products.
In this regard, the Group’s Innovation Center - which has been operating for some time and that is run by a young and motivated team - aims to activate a culture of innovation at a transversal level, interacting with universities, research institutes, companies, European partners and suppliers of new technologies in order to develop sustainable products.

The portfolio of innovative and environmentally friendly solutions, designed by the Innovation Center, includes the packaging solution for coffee beans with degassing valve, recently placed on the Packaging Oscar finalist shortlist: from the heterogeneous starting structure (triple film, formed by PET, aluminium and PE) a polyolefin based composition (PP and PE) and functional coatings for the barrier effect were attained.
This and other monomaterial products designed in a green perspective will be on display at FachPack 2019.
