Italian packaging machinery industry keeps going
As one the sectors defined as “essential” by the government in the Prime Ministerial Decree of 22 March, the Italian packaging machinery industry is continuing its normal operations.
All facilities are operational and are kept safe through strict adoption of hygiene protocols, which includes limiting internal and external contacts and reducing the number of people in the workplace.
These reorganisation efforts not only aim to protect employees but also to safeguard the community as a whole. The industry enjoys the support of UCIMA (Italian Automatic Packaging Machinery Manufacturers’ Association), which issues daily bulletins containing advice and information for both members and non-members.
“At this time of uncertainty caused by the escalation of the Coronavirus in many countries, we believe it is essential to inform our customers worldwide that our companies have taken all the necessary action, including implementation of all protocols and compliance with the high levels of safety imposed by the Italian authorities,” said Chairman Enrico Aureli. “We therefore urge our international clientele to maintain normal relations with our companies and to continue to display the trust that our industry earns on a daily basis in all international markets."
