Metal closures: acquisitions
Strengthening its production capacity in the food & beverage area, while at the same time consolidating its leadership in the cosmetics, dietary supplement and pharmaceutical sectors.
Strengthening its production capacity in the food & beverage area, while at the same time consolidating its leadership in the cosmetics, dietary supplement and pharmaceutical sectors.
With these goals, last February, Tecnocap group brought to a close its acquisition of the Twist/Lug Closures division of the Ardagh/Impress group, with the assistance of the law firm Shearman & Sterling. On the topic, Michelangelo Morlicchio, Tecnocap’s managing director, stated: «This acquisition represents an important benchmark in the plan for Tecnocap group’s global growth, a plan which includes future acquisitions and bets on new markets. The group plans to open new facilities in East Asia and South America and is implementing new policies aimed at integrating and rationalizing production, commercial and technical assistance networks worldwide».
The group’s leadership in the USA has also been consolidated with the launch of new patents, with an eye to diversifying and expanding the group’s range of special solutions (such as SAF-Lok™ security locks).
In addition to representing a successful alternative to conventional plastic closures, the Tecnocap offer is fully compliant with the increasingly stringent regulations and requirements of these sectors, both in terms of appeal, design and premium finish and in terms of security and product protection: such is the case as the Aluminum Unishell® - an ultra light, recyclable closure with an impactful visual appeal thanks to lithographic finishes - or Bella® Cap, featuring linear smooth edges with no external grain, made from a double material, with a plastic (polypropylene) interior and a metal exterior.
THE TECNOCAP GROUP is a global leader in the production of metal caps for packaging glass and plastic containers in the food, cosmetics, dietary supplement and pharmaceutical sectors. The world’s third largest producer of metal closures for food products, the group holds a dominant position in the US market, with a total volume of more than 4 billion capsules, a turnover of 130 million euro, 6 production sites and more than 700 employees distributed among the various concerns in the group.
In addition to a corporate multiplant, Tecnocap group relies on a network of over 32 commercial branches and a global network of specialized technical assistance centers. The company was selected by the Borsa Italiana/London Stock Exchange Group’s Elite project, and is having its shares appraised on AIMItalia, the market dedicated to SMEs.
