Packaging Première: the luxury of creativity
With an exclusive offer of solutions for the packaging of high-end consumer goods - mainly cosmetics and fragrances, fine food, wine and spirits - Packaging Première closes its third edition (28-30 May, Fieramilanocity) registering some 6700 visitors (+40% compared to 2018).
And with 242 exhibitors (direct or represented), 90 of which “new entries”, the Milanese event confirms its nature as a high grade meeting point for designers, producers and international brands, attentive to the communication potential of packaging.
The event organizer, Pier Paolo Ponchia, declared himself satisfied with the result: «The brands at the fair, carefully selected, have contributed to creating a stimulating and refined atmosphere, confirming Packaging Première as a unique event of its kind, a reference point for the luxury packaging sector».
In addition to the exhibition offer, a conference program, thematic in-depth analyses and impactful exhibition formats will be included to arouse the visitors’ interest.
Among the most popular events, we cite the conference held by Smithers Pira, authoritative voice in the world of packaging, which has studied the trends and possible developments of luxury packaging in Europe.
Also noteworthy the presentation of the results of an experimental educational project - organized in partnership with Esxence - The Scent of Excellence and the Design Department of the Politecnico di Milano – amidst artistic perfumery, design and luxury packaging.
Metamorphosis in the Art Gallery. To enhance the synergies between the world of packaging and the world of art, Packaging Première proposed a fascinating prologue to the exhibition, setting up a special exhibition dedicated to the work of some artists who, drawing inspiration from raw materials, were confronted with the theme Metamorphosis, creating unique and evocative works.
Wood, paper, plastic and glass: matter - molded into new forms - has therefore come to life at the hands of the artist who works it, combining creative flair with research and study work, which has taken into consideration the entire supply chain involved.
The exhibitors included Agnese Del Gamba (from recycled PET to sculptures, jewels and clothes), Francesca Meana (paper combined with different materials), Daniele Papuli (vinyl, synthetic materials and paper, harmonized thanks to the design), Alessandro Rametta (working with copper, steel, bronze and iron, inspired by the legendary figure of Hephaestus), Simone Crestani (blown glass sculptures), Giorgio Rastelli (soft, allusive wooden sculptures, beyond matter).
