Pharmacy channel for beauty

For the user public the pharmacy is no longer just a dispensary of medicines but also a trusted salespoint for products and health and beauty treatments considered now by most people as an integral part of their lifestyle.

This was once more confirmed by the data disclosed during the last Cosmofarma Exhibition Group Cosmetics Pharmacy of Cosmetica Italia (GCF), present at the fair with an institutional stand and many promo and info undertakings.           
Among these, the presentation of data on the performance of dermocosmetics in pharmacies, edited by New Line, and results of research on consumer expectations regarding the purchase of cosmetics in pharmacies, promoted by Cosmetica Italia and curated by Alias. The survey shows that, in spite the streamlining of demand towards the channel, sales of cosmetics in Italian pharmacies  in 2014 grew by 0.5%, reaching a value of over 1,800 million euros. The forecasts for the first six months of 2015 also indicate further growth, amounting to one percentage point.

The resilience of consumption in the channel, which currently makes up about a fifth of total sales, confirms the confidence of consumers who appreciate the guidance and counseling service offered by pharmacists. Particularly rewarding the focus placed on the value of the cosmetic product and the enhancement of its integration with other types of product.
