Production of Incada steps up
The board of directors of the Holmen group, which owns Iggesund Paperboard, approved investments for 60 million euro, to support the competitiveness and sustainability of Iggesund in Sweden and in Workington, GB.
Following these appropriations, the paper group will increase pulp production from the current 370 thousand to 420 thousand tons, and paperboard production capacity from 200 thousand to 220 thousand tons.
The production of Incada cardboard will also increase, to satisfy the growing demand.
Among the most significant measures one has purchase of a new recovery boiler as part of the development of the Swedish papermill’s air and wastewater system, but also on the productivity side, the rebuild of the Workington press section. Overall, in the last five years by Iggesund Paperboard has invested 361 million euros to reduce energy costs and limit the use of fossil fuels.
