Stabilizing pallets

Use of adhesive materials with "non-slip" functions: solutions by Robatech.

The Swiss multinational Robatech is a world leader in the development and production of adhesive application systems. Robatech’s devices enable the designing of special solutions for dedicated applications for end of line: pallet stabilization is an excellent example.
In the complex packaging process, stabilizing the pallet is a critical moment, where damage to packs should be reduced to a minimum without slowing down the production chain. On this count for years now Robatech has been proposing the use of adhesive, which represents a low cost alternative to stretch film or other conventional techniques. Firstly the adhesive prevents the shifting of cartons or bags during loading and transport, thus reducing the chances of accidental falls within the warehouse, ensuring high standards of safety and protection of staff. Secondly the ecological aspect in  support of this solution, is not to be undervalued, which results in the reduction of materials to be disposed of, in keeping with the "green" philosophy that has featured the Robatech brand for years.

Application. When the goods are placed on the pallet, it is necessary to obtain a single block with a uniform load and that must be protected from slipping during transport and storage. Conventional measures such as the use of stretch film or wraparound straps or anti-slip paper significantly up costs and affect the environment in that these components have to be disposed of. The application of adhesive in the corners of the pack in the form of drops, dashes, or spirals is a convenient and more sustainable alternative and ensures that the goods adhere to each other, thus preventing any displacement.
Depending on the application and climatic conditions hot or cold adhesives can be used. For the application of cold glue, the Robatech system is equipped with a double diaphragm pump, an ACX application head and the AS30 stroke programmer. In turn for hotmelt adhesives a Concept C two drop or spray pistols applicator with integrated AS-1K10 dash programmer is used.
