Taghleef Industries and Filmac
Biotape RESPONSIBLE | SUSTAINABLE | EQUILIBRATED

What it is. Biotape adhesive tape is made with raw materials from renewable resources of plant origin (PP derived from tall oil, obtained from the extraction of cellulose present in wood waste). Due to its excellent technical performance, high thermal stability and effective workability, it is a valid alternative to similar products made with raw materials of fossil origin.

Materials. Bio-based polypropylene (PP) film with water-based, solvent-free acrylic solution.

Product or target market. Adhesive tape suitable for use in a variety of sectors.

Design and/or communication. The bio-based solution proposed by Taghleef Industries together with Filmac is comparable to traditional adhesive tapes in terms of both aesthetics and technical performance.

Technology. Taghleef Industries' films for tape applications are characterized by very high thermal stability and excellent processability in the coating process. Filmac's production chain - fast, flexible and almost completely vertical, thanks to the use of state-of-the-art machinery and equipment - guarantees optimal and constant control of product requirements during processing.

Sustainability. Produced with raw material from renewable sources, in compliance with the ISCC PLUS (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) Biotape contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. According to the LCA analysis, in fact, each kg of renewable PP used in place of traditional raw materials allows to avoid up to 4 kg of CO2 emissions, with a saving of up to 80% of fossil fuels. Moreover, "biotape" can be recycled in existing plants dedicated to polyolefins. It therefore represents a solution in accordance with the principles of circular economy.
