IPACK-Mat: the IPACK-IMA brand for sustainable materials and packaging

4 - 7 May 2021, IPACK-IMA, Fiera Milano - After the successful debut in 2018, the IPACK-Mat project returns, entirely dedicated to innovative solutions in terms of high added value materials, with which the 25th edition of IPACK-IMA - scheduled at Fiera Milano from 4 to 7 May 2021 - expands its contents and extends the exhibition boundaries.

New to 2021 the expansion of the “IPACK-Mat - Packaging Materials for Product Development” project, which from a special area becomes a real brand, with the aim of ensuring greater identity to all packaging material suppliers present at IPACK-IMA and MEAT-TECH.
This is a far-reaching concept, which will offer food for thought to manufacturing industry operators and marketing personnel in terms of the  development of new product lines.

Meanwhile the IPACK-Mat thematic area has been  confirmed in Hall 14: a privileged showcase for innovative materials and eco-friendly packaging, where it will clearly emerge how closely the green economy, smart packaging and design are associated.
Hence space for new generation materials, capable of  responding to the demands of ever greater sustainability and rationalization of production. But space  also for “high-tech” packaging, with a view to extending the product shelf life and preserving its integrity. Successful, original solutions ... such as the super resistant flexible corrugated cardboard for the packaging special goods and ideal for e-commerce, either as mono-material barrier films ... or as cellulose containers resistant to high temperatures and, on top of that, the labels of the future.

Valuable collaborations, for a more complete fair
IPACK-Mat has renewed its partnership with CONAI - Italy’s National Packaging Consortium, and excellence at European level that unites over 800,000 packaging manufacturers and users who - within their exhibition space - will propose initiatives to raise awareness and encourage the industry to invest in production processes inspired by the principles of the circular economy.

The 2021 edition of the event will also see the launch of a new initiative: this being the “Ipack-Ima Lab”, the new section of IPACK-Mat organized in collaboration with the Italian Packaging Institute, which will give space to laboratories and certification and research institutes specialized in FCM (Food Contact Material) quality and compliance checks.

The partnership with the Italian Packaging Institute has been further strengthened, emphasizing innovation in packaging: IPACK-IMA will in fact be the main partner of the Best Packaging Awards 2020 and 2021, with celebration of the winners of the 2021 edition directly at the fair.
