SPS Italia: people-centred innovation

Excellent results for the automation and digital fair organised by Messe Frankfurt Italia with the support of ANIE Automazione, which was held in Parma from 23 to 25 May. With over 800 exhibitors, 38,713 visitators, and over 130 conferences and round tables in the five arenas of District 4.0, SPS Italia, therefore, recorded a growth, especially in terms of visitors (comfortably exceeding the numbers in 2022).

Various themes were covered during the fair, with a focus on sustainability, the role of people in the evolution of new technologies, and the relationship between artificial intelligence and ethics.

Topical themes were covered by leading figures such as Federico Faggin, Bruno Siciliano, Marco Bentivogli, only to cite a few. Points of interest for SMEs and the new generations also emerged during the event, with the publication of the Position Paper and the Manifesto delle Competenze (Skills Manifesto), developed on the initiative of SPS Italia with the involvement of ANIE Automazione and many companies in the sector. The document intends to define the skills necessary for entering the labour market and to help teachers, high school students and families in the choice of the best path of study, focusing on the evolution of fundamental technologies for industry 4.0 such as robotics, artificial intelligence, sensor technology, 5G and cybersecurity.
