Best Packaging 2019: the winners
Milan, 13 May 2019. The winners of the Best Packaging 2019 contest were announced during the event entitled “Packaging of the future and environmental sustainability - Best Packaging 2019” organised by H-FARM and La Repubblica in collaboration with Conai and the Italian Institute of Packaging.
The aim of the Best Packaging contest is to recognise the best packaging solutions placed on the market in the last two years.
The 2019 contest saw the submission of 23 hi-tech packaging solutions based on in-depth studies of eco-design and innovation in term of both materials and technologies.
Promoted by the Italian Institute of Packaging, this edition of the contest was organised in cooperation with the Italian packaging consortium Conai.
“We are proud to reward the Italian best practices in the packaging sector in terms of environmental sustainability and innovation, an initiative that we have been carrying out for many years in collaboration with the Italian Packaging Consortium,” said Anna Paola Cavanna, Chairwoman of the Italian Institute of Packaging.
“As well as organising this contest, the Institute is committed to raising awareness amongst its stakeholders of the issue of the eco-compatibility of packaging, for which purpose we are drawing up a sustainable packaging guideline document which will soon be available to all packaging producer and user companies.”
“It is important to recognise the research and development efforts made by companies aiming to improve the sustainability of their packaging,” said Giorgio Quagliuolo, Chairman of CONAI. “Prevention means adopting measures for reducing the environmental impact of packaging, considering the quantities of materials used as well as the entire packaging life cycle from production to usage and end of life.”
