Bevertech: the new expo for liquid Food&Beverage

The synergy between Unione Italiana Vini and Ipack Ima has created a unique ecosystem dedicated to production, packaging and distribution, offering innovative and sustainable solutions for companies in the sector

Simei 2024

From 17 to 20 November 2026, Simei returns to Fiera Milano with a new ally. Alongside the 31st edition of the Italian Wine Union (Uiv) exhibition dedicated to technology for oenology and bottling, there will be the debut of Bevertech, a new trade fair that is the only event in Italy entirely dedicated to technological solutions for the production, packaging and distribution of liquid food and beverages, sectors that are expected to grow in terms of both consumption and innovation, with packaging technologies alone expected to reach 17 billion by 2028. The result of strategic synergy between Simei and IPACK-IMA, the leading trade fair for packaging, processing and materials, Bevertech was created to tap into a niche market that has yet to be discovered, offering concrete answers to the needs of innovation, efficiency and sustainability of companies in the sector.

‘Bevertech aims to break down the boundaries between sectors,’ comments Valerio Soli, president of Ipack Ima, "to encourage positive cross-fertilisation between related industries, from liquid processing technologies to automation, from smart packaging to traceability, to the digital and sustainable solutions that are reshaping the supply chain. It is no coincidence that we have chosen the slogan 'Liquid innovation. Solid solutions'. This is an event designed for companies in the Liquid Food&Beverage sector, buyers, food technologists, distributors and operators,‘ he concludes, ’a highly qualified audience selected through targeted recruitment that leverages the consolidated databases of Simei and IPACK-IMA."

'In a complex and articulated market context, more and more companies are betting on diversification of their offerings, made possible by the growing transversality of technologies,' emphasises Paolo Castelletti, CEO of Unione Italiana Vini Servizi. The complementarity with Simei therefore represents a fundamental added value: the simultaneous presence of the two events creates a unique ecosystem, in which consolidated expertise in wine production and bottling is intertwined with innovations and solutions from other sectors, thus creating new opportunities for networking and commercial development. This is a new proposal that opens the way to unprecedented prospects and further growth opportunities for our companies."

According to data from IPACK-IMA Monitor, the Liquid Food & Beverage sector is recording interesting growth rates in terms of production – supported in particular by global consumption of Liquid Food, which is expected to grow by 2.8% per annum between 2025 and 2028 – but also in terms of technology. While the packaging materials sector for these products is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR 2025-2028) of +4.2% until 2028, beverage packaging technologies are expected to grow at a CAGR (2024-2028) of +4%, which should bring the market value to 16.9 billion over the next 3 years (it was 13.9 in 2023).
