With “Close the Glass Loop” 90% collection targeted

The European glass packaging industry (Feve) officially launched “Close the Glass Loop” on 30 June, an industrial platform created to better manage and coordinate, at European level, the glass collection and recycling supply chain, so as to increase the quantity and quality of available recycled glass.  The objective is to support the circular economy in this sector, increasing glass collection rates up to 90% by 2030.

The initiative is a concrete response to the new European standards aimed at increasing the net recycling targets for glass packaging.

Twelve European Federations are united in the programme, representing glass producers, processors, brands, packaging recovery organisations and municipalities; for Italy, Assovetro and CoReVe are involved.
