How will you produce in the future?

Sustainable, appealing, intelligent, ergonomic…the packaging of the future in the projects of the big multinationals that lead the way is illustrated in a white paper “Tendances Packaging: Comment produirez-vous demain?” available also on Amazon in paperback format.

It was presented by the French food and non food processing and packaging equipment producers’ association (GEPPIA), and published by Nextero Conseil, and gathers testimonies and projects from some twenty experts and companies such as Nestlé, Coca-Cola, L’Oréal, Pernod-Ricard, Carrefour etc. The values shared and coherent with market trends, have been variously interpreted.

Thus Coca-Cola declares itself committed on the way to sustainably with the objective of “providing an added value at a lesser cost”, while Pernod-Ricard is careful about “making best use of packaging” as sales and service tools, typically benefiting the elderly and children. In L’Oréal smart packaging is seen as a tool against counterfeiting, where traceability evolves  interactively (with the customers). At the same time, some experts underline the demand for simplicity, interpreted for example by the “return to cardboard” or, on the technological level, in the resorting to advanced electronics as an aid to developing  “simpler machines, easy to clean, ergonomic and reliable”.
The priorities all the same appear different in the various regions of the globe: increase in monodose packaging for the pharmaceutical industry in North America, intelligent printing and the growth of flexible packaging in Asia...
