Investing in efficiency, quality and service

According to Innova Group, the recipe to overcome even the most difficult moments remains the will and the ability to invest in production and management optimization as well as human capital. Thanks to this attitude, the Pedrotti family remains faithful to the goal of producing corrugated cardboard packaging and sheets with the best value for money and a punctual and flexible service.

Trust and realism: these are the distinctive features that emerged during the traditional meeting with the press organized by Innova Group at the end of September. The three directors of the Group, Diego, Luca and Stefano Pedrotti, together with their mother Giulia, first of all presented the results achieved in 2019 and then set out the objectives for the near future.

The most relevant economic targets. In 2019 Innova Group recorded a slight decrease compared to the previous year, with a consolidated turnover of 82,107,681 euros and a practically unchanged profit, thanks to the provisions made for social security purposes.

It should be noted that, again in 2019, the company hired 11 young people, demonstrating once again the focus on the formation of human capital, considered a fundamental asset in the medium to long term. As far as 2020 is concerned, the first half of the year was affected, albeit slightly, by the pandemic effect and the losses were covered by an excellent summer period, which saw orders increase substantially compared to the previous year. Against this background, forecasts for 2020 are in line with the previous year.

Investments and targets. Also in 2019, the company made investments of 2.6 million Euros. The owners were keen to point out that the investments made in past years have now reached full capacity, producing a clear efficiency improvement in production.

With the same spirit of initiative, they pointed out that also for the current year further investments for a total of about 6 million Euro have been allocated, of which 5 million Euro for the expansion of the Fontanella plant and the purchase of a new 4-color Bobst line, able to optimize production times to the maximum.

The complex digitization process, which began some time ago, is also nearing completion, in order to support the actions of efficiency and improvement of quality, productivity and service level.

After a long research and a careful analysis of the main players in the world market of management software, Innova Group has decided to rely on Sap 4Hana. This latest generation software will be able to integrate purchasing, production, logistics, commercial and administration, improving the reliability of information and simplifying the work of all employees. As specified by the Pedrotti, this is an important decision that will involve an investment of some million euros, but that within a couple of years will bring the company to a higher level of management: the great capacity of production of data, their analysis and the application of best practices will enable a further optimisation of processes.
