Last farewell to Giuseppe Meana

Bresso December 10th. Hundreds of people paid a moving tribute to Giuseppe Meana, president of Pusterla 1880, during the funeral rites that were held in the Parish of San Nazaro and Celso. A simple, touching ceremony, composed as he would have liked it to be, but also marked by much disbelief, dismay and sincere pain.

Numerous the known figures from the entrepreneurial world: from his “friends” of Gifasp to the competitors (never, ever enemies, let it be stated), from representatives of the associations, to the communication operators.
But aboveall lots of people - co-workers, the world of voluntary work, the general public – that with unanimous sentiment warmly embraced the family.

His wife Anita, his children Luca, Francesca and Matteo, his closest relatives responded to everyone’s affection spontaneously and with great strength of spirit.
During the homily, don Angelo (Bresso vicar) remembered him as “ a just and good man”, who had spent his life not seeking self-satisfaction, but doing good. Adding that, for Meana «love was not a sentiment but a style of life: this man never called anyone “servant”, least of all his employees. He lived life as a service and he did much for the poor, the needy, the old».
In another tribute, don Ettore (his close friend and confessor) pointed out how many would have wished to say “thankyou” to Giuseppe:«And I am one of the many, who received a lot from him: in terms of friendship and esteem but also because he was a great help in supporting actions for the less fortunate».

Charged with emotion the voices of his sons and daughter who, on closing the ceremony, with different accents, allowed those who were present to share their life experience and the teaching received by a man «who did everything without ever expecting anything in return», from a «brave, steadfast, ever present, gentle, reliable person ready to give them a hug in darker moments», from a father «who made sure his children never suffered want of anything, but who has helped them become acquainted with the value of what they have, allowing them to be capable of appreciating the same».
