Nestlé: Sustainability statements
The Swiss giant Nestlé will invest up to 2 billion Swiss francs to implement the transition from virgin to recycled plastic for food use, in accordance with the objective set to make 100% of its packaging recyclable or reusable by 2025 and reduce by one third, the use of virgin plastic.
In addition to the significant internal research activity carried out through the Nestlé Institute of Packaging Sciences in this area, the group will also launch a venture capital fund of 250 million Swiss francs (232 million euros) with the aim of investing in start-ups that they focus on packaging innovation (new materials, filling and closing systems).
