Proplast, energy efficiency and B&R

Integrated with the entire range of B&R automation technologies, the APROL EnMon system for recording and measurement of the main causes of energy consumption is now installed and operational at Proplast (a technology and research center active in the conversion of plastic materials).

The objective of the installation is to collect all energy consumption information (electric, heat, gas heating, water, pressurized air) from the various zones of the plant, laboratories and offices in such a way as to establish possible areas of intervention for improving energy performance at the Rivalta Scrivia site.
A complete system like EnMon, simple to configure and ready to use, enables Proplast to gauge energy use in a collection of laboratories with testing stations and machinery, where the consortium tests new materials, technologies and processes for other concerns.
With the data now collected by EnMon, it’s possible to calculate in detail the consumption of each macro-area and single installation, in such a way enriching with valuable energy data the analyses conducted by the consortium. This enables transparency in meeting ISO 50001 requirements on energy management.
