For SIT it is the year of the beehive
The excellent organization of a beehive as a metaphor of a successful company: this is the theme around which SIT has created “its” calendar for 2012, a cult object that has seen the new year in for close on two decades now.
Thanks to the power of macro photos, the pictures of the SIT Group’s 2012 calendar reveal the imperceptible details of that miniature universe that is the beehive, where a sort of “collective intelligence” moves the actions and the thoughts of the creatures that inhabit the same… Just like in a successful company, where the communal objectives of efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction are pursued.
But the organization of the beehive not only offers a transparent, clear and brilliant metaphor of successful endeavour: this operational micro-system is not isolated by its own autarchic fervour but innervated by its relations with the referential environment.
Similar to all complex mechanisms, the beehive protects its own fragility when adverse environmental conditions irreparably threaten its life, forcing its population to migrate elsewhere in search of a new equilibrium.
The metaphor has an even stronger significance, as nobody today, in the light of an environmental emergency, can declare themselves estranged or insensitive to the responsibility or necessity to respond to nature which calls offenders to account for the wounds inflicted on it and above all, demands respect. A chain of value exists which passes by way of individual responsibility leading to a collective intelligence capable of stabilising the order of things.
In other words everybody has to do their bit, do it well, and if possible work with love and passion.
The SIT group is convinced of this, that not only interprets its product - flexible packaging - as a guarantee of protection, quality and excellence, but as bearing witness to ethical values of great standing: correctness of processes and products, honesty and transparency in supplier-customer relations, keeping faith with ones commitments to the environment and to society.
