Technology and art in the Innovation factory

With an important ceremony, involving 600 guests including representatives of culture, society and economy, at the end of May Wittenstein opened its Innovation Factory in the manufacturing hub of Igersheim (D) .

A factory of 18,000 square meters, with 500 workspaces and covering 6,000 square meters of certified high energy efficiency production areas and offices, a combination of products and smart factory mechatronics systems rooted in solar and renewable energy and sustainable materials dominated by glass. Light and transparency in fact are the hallmark of an innovative idea that inspired the building and its use: development, production and logistical assistance - in short, everything, from the concept to the finished product - is made in dynamic and fluid environments in a radius of 30 meters, favoring sharing and communication. This is where the production activities of the Wittenstein Cyber Motor and Motion Control divisions have been transferred, that hence benefit from this organization of natural and human resources, and its artistic representation.

The Innovation Factory is also an art workshop in terms of the unveiling of the real, capable of showing its truth and prefiguring its developments. Starting from this idea, Manfred Wittenstein (Chairman of the Board of Statutory Auditors of the company) created Enterpreneur 4.0 Award, an international photo contest in which the photographer-artist encounters the Factory of the Future. Jury president Oliviero Toscani declared Sascha Weidner’s evocative spring blooms the winner, in which nature, just as the Innovation Factory, is renewed, continuously adapting to changes in the (economic) climate, in a constantly evolving context.
