Servotecnica presents a new smart and connected component.

From simple magnetic or optical components, encoders today have evolved into authentic intelligent peripherals capable of providing accurate angle or positioning information through dedicated communication protocols.

Thanks to the development of magnetic, optical and micro-electronic technologies, the new generations of the product which have arrived on the market in the last 15 years have turned encoders into complex devices with a technological evolution that has opened the way to the introduction of new ideas, optimisation and additional applications of existing products.

A blend of the best features

Flux’s new products distributed by Servotecnica fit into this context: positioning encoders or angle measurers that represent the best synthesis of standard products available on the market. The new solutions, in fact, are not affected by hysteresis and have the high precision typical of an optical reader, the robustness of an inductive reader and the wide tolerances of a magnetic encoder.

These qualities are made possible by the characteristics of GMI (Giant Magnetic Impedance) technology underpinning the innovative encoder proposed by Servotecnica. Using this technology for position measurements maximises the interaction between the magnetic solution and the inductive one: an innovation through which Flux is able to design and develop revolutionary encoders with unique characteristics and cutting-edge performance.

A complete range

Servotecnica and Flux’s offer includes encompasses three different product families: the GMI angle encoder that guarantees high-level performance, the more versatile GMI rotary encoder and the compact Inductive Rotary Encoder. The particular geometry of the Flux encoders and the reduced axial dimensions make them suitable for full integration in many applications, including robotics, machinery for the semi-conductor industry, the medical sector, machine tools and mobile optical heads.
