The added value of collaboration
Standardization, flexibility and effectiveness: these are the salient features of the integration between the technological know-how of MG2 and OPTEL, from which the GLS10 case packer with the latest generation of industrial vision systems was born..
The technological tradition in the development of flexible, high-efficiency machines adaptable to any production context for processing and packaging is the basis of the project that involved MG2 and OPTEL Group, a Canadian multinational specialized in serialization and tracking.
The partnership has enabled the development of a standard communication protocol for the rapid and effective integration of OPTEL serialization and aggregation systems with MG2 end-of-line packaging systems.
This is the case of the GSL10 side-loading horizontal case packer, ergonomic and compact, with speeds of up to 10 cartons/min, which is integrated with OPTEL technology for coding, single package verification and aggregation of the entire product batch.
The two inspection systems chosen to ensure a clear display of QR codes, without distortion or blurring, are cameras with illuminators: one for reading the QR codes printed on the stacked products and one for checking the label printed on the filled carton.
To collect all the information inside the carton and perform the tracking, the case packer is divided into 5 operating zones: product stacking, carton filling, closing, print & apply labeling, label inspection and QR code aggregation.
Keyword of the system remains "flexibility", with the choice of technical solutions that do not require customizations or adjustments for format change.
The dialogue between the two systems is also standardized, to promote effective data exchange and replicability of the integration model even in different contexts.
