D series plastics for multi detection

In recent years, the identification of any plastic fragments in the food production sector has increasingly oriented the market towards the choice of so-called detectable materials. In response to these needs, Ensinger offers the new Ultra Detectable (UD) family of products, detectable with the three main methods currently used on modern production lines (optical scanners, metal detectors, or X-rays) and all compliant with the directives in on food safety, as a raw material that complies with the FDA standard and Reg. EU 10/2011 (tests performed on semi-finished products).

Available in various formats, the UD series products are:

• TECAPEEK UD blue (PEEK based). With a distortion temperature above 150° C and excellent resistance to a wide range of chemical products for sanitizing, it is ideal for components with high performance requirements in the food sector;
• TECAFORM AH UD blue (based on copolymer acetal resin). It is the most versatile material, suitable for both structural parts and flow applications. It maintains good wear resistance and balanced mechanical properties;
• TECADUR PBT UD blue (European version of the American HYDEX 4101 UD blue). With excellent flow properties and dimensional stability, it is the most appropriate for applications requiring diluted chlorine and caustic based sanitizing solutions.
