Efficiency and productivity
Logistics and end of line: Robopac and Ocme solutions at the Caviro plant in Forlì (50 million bottles and over 24 million briks per year).
A complete handling system of the finished product, from palletizing to the preparation of shipping bays, all in perfect compatibility with the company’s automated warehouse.
This the request received by Ocme from Caviro, a leading Italian player in the wine sector as well as a major customer for the Group, given that - with the latest order - Robopac has become its exclusive supplier as far as pallet wrapping is concerned.
Significant in this regard is the fact that, precisely Caviro, was the first manufacturer to install the new Genesis Thunder rotating ring wrapping machine in the plant.
It should also be noted that the large wine cooperative, thanks to the adoption of Robopac machines in recent years and, in particular, to the support of the Robopac TechLab (which in practice studies the applications to be adopted) has registered significant advantages, starting from the best and most effective stabilization of pallets up to the reduction of costs deriving from the use of consumables (films, dividers).
The supply, in practice
The handling. For the Caviro plant in Forlì, Ocme has developed a system of 11 shuttles with 3 types of vehicles, designed according to the space available in the plant and the missions to be carried out, with a manual loading system.
In detail, three Auriga 25 Z vehicles were supplied to handle the finished product after palletizing, which allow two pallets to be transported for each LGV cycle and that also handle the consumables (label rolls, film rolls for wrapping machines, empty pallets).
Five Auriga 15 PS vehicles are instead used for the handling of 1200x800 Euro-pallets from the automatic warehouse (A) to the truck loading bays.
Lastly, three 15 CT vehicles were supplied, intended to handle the finished product on 1200x1000 - 100x900 - 1200x800 - 1219x1016 pallets (Europallet - Japan - America) from the warehouse (B) to the bays.
Of great importance is the possibility of interfacing with both automated warehouses and with the customer's management software, which has enabled the product flow to be customised according to the needs of the plant.
Wrapping. Robopac has supplied Caviro with four wrapping units, adopted to meet specific needs:
- Helix HS 30, a line for wrapping pallets coming from the bag in box production line destined for the foreign market;
- Genesis Futura 40 for the two glass bottling lines;
- Genesis HS 50 and Genesis Thunder for demi-pallet wrapping and re-coupling on the parent pallet.
Automatic and performant solutions
The systems put in place by Robopac and Ocme have allowed Caviro to achieve the established objectives, in terms of logistic efficiency and in general of end-of-line, thus consolidating a relationship that is now twenty years old and of mutual satisfaction.
