ItaliaImballaggio’s view of Cibus Tec 2023: Colimatic

Tags

On the back of 50 years of activity, the entire history of the Colimatic brand revolves around FFS packaging machines and automation.

The company, which is a world leader in thermoforming lines, brought two new developments to the attention of visitors to Cibus Tec: the series of lines that makes it possible to use sustainable and recyclable materials in food packaging processes and the new project in the context of meat processing, as explains Giulia Antonelli, marketing and communication manager.

«Let’s start with the machines offer, which demonstrates our commitment to sustainability and efficiency: Thera Webskin-Webmap, Colimatic’s solution for eco-sustainable packaging, protected by a patent. The line makes it possible, with investment in a single machine, to use different ecological materials, such as paper, cardboard and mono-materials, and produce packages with different technologies, such as skin, ATM and vacuum packaging. Specifically, WEBMAP is a new solution for packaging cold cuts, in a sustainable package which, besides maintaining high standards of shelf-life, doesn’t alter the organoleptic and nutritional characteristics of foods.

The package is composed of a very high-quality cardboard base with a plastic percentage below 10% and which is, therefore, totally recyclable with paper; the top is separable and can be introduced into the plastic recovery and reuse circuit. The package, with printed and personalisable graphics, is made starting from a reel, thus eliminating the costs of storage and management of die-cuts. With regards our new project, - adds Antonelli - it’s called PROMEAT and has arisen out of the synergy between professionals with decades of experience in the meat and its derivatives sector.

The aim is, therefore, to offer a service that the meat sector today fails to do: the supply of a complete solution, composed of technology, consumables and processing machines that help producers to best develop their own product. The process solutions are offered by Ferdinand Henneken, a top German company in the sector, which produces vacuum churns, depositors, tenderizers, brine mixers, levellers and various “Made in Germany” loading devices».
