Megaflex: high-speed precision for capsule inspection machine

A manufacturer of automated optical inspection machines for the medical industry was creating a drive system for a machine that inspects capsules, tablets and pills one by one, using a belt to move items at speeds up to 3,000 units per minute past a camera which detects defective pieces.

The ideal belt for this system had to be able to synchronize product movement with image capture, allow for faulty products to be picked off the belt at full speed, and ensure a clean environment as well.
